Calling all creative young people in Belfast!!
Giga Training, Belfast Electronic Arts Academy, and Community Arts Partnership have teamed up to offer a range of exciting new creative programmes for young people in Belfast. The programmes will give young people skills in some of the most exciting areas of digital media at the moment, such as DJing, digital music, animation and filmmaking.
The programmes available are iPad Creative Club, which covers a range of digital skills including music, animation and filmmaking, a Lego Animation Club, where they will plan, film, score and edit their own lego animation film and a DJ Skills programme, where they will learn all the skills associated with modern club DJing.
The participants will be guided by tutors from Giga Training, who are all active professionals working in their fields. All of the tutors have extensive experience in working with children and young people, having delivered training for schools, community groups and children’s charities across NI.
The programmes will take place at the brand new Arts Resource Centre in Belfast, the state of the art facility ran by the Community Arts Partnership.
To launch the programmes they will be hosting a FREE open day for people to drop in to on Saturday December 2nd at the Arts Resource Centre, from 11am-1pm, where young people will be able to try out all the different equipment and apps that will be used on the course, during focussed taster sessions, guided by the Giga tutors. Tea and coffee will be available to parents and there will be an opportunity to register for any of the programmes launching in January.
Places for the Open Day and the January programmes are strictly limited, so registration is essential for both.
