Kicking off in October is our new electronic music production course using Ableton Live. The course is designed to get students up and running making music in any style using the groundbreaking Live software as their main tool.
All equipment is provided, including and a Mac running Ableton Live, a MIDI controller keyboard, headphones as well as a range of MIDI controller devices. We also encourage people to bring along their own gear, so if you have your own laptop, an APC40, a MicroKorg or anything else, feel free to bring it along.
Course content will include all the basics of Music Production in Ableton such as Warping, using loops, MIDI sequencing, plus a look at Ableton’s powerful synths and on board FX plug ins. We’ll finish things off with some basic arranging techniques and exporting to ensure you will take a finished track home with you.
Throughout the programme students will have access to Strandtown Studios state of the art recording facilities including control and live rooms, a wide range of hardware synth and samplers, mics by Neumann, AKG, BSS, Mackie monitoring and Focusrite audio Pre Amps.
This course costs only £250 and takes place on Monday evenings from 7pm to 9.30pm.
