NIACRO ARTICULATE

Over the last 12 month  Giga have been working with NIACRO and BEAMA on an Arts Council NI and PHA funded Articulate programme.

ARTiculate Young People and Wellbeing Arts Programme is a partnership programme delivered by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Public Health Agency.  It aims to improve the health and wellbeing of young people at risk across Northern Ireland. The Arts help give young people a voice, to articulate their story and in the process to achieve greater personal wellbeing.

Giga, BEAMA and NIACRO worked with 28 young people from Lakewood Secure Unit and NIACRO’s IV project to deliver a number of music technology and DJ programme with a focus on mental health and well being.

The young people explored music as a medium to express themselves, planning and producing a range of DJ mixes and podcasts.

The young people also gained an OCNNI qualification as part of the project.
