DAA DJ/Music Production - 26th July 21

As part of Belfast City Council’s  Peace IV Tech Connects programme, Giga delivered a four day Good Relations focused DJ and Music Production course at The Black Box in Belfast to 25 young people from across the city..

Over the four days the group got hands on instruction from NI DJ legend Gleave Dobbin, and Belfast electronic artists Connor Dougan &  Robbie McCammon. They got their hands on the most up to date equipment,  learning how to produce in industry standard Ableton live software. The production side of the course looked at musical influences from across the world with the young people working towards fusing world and modern contemporary styles of electronic music. Throughout the week the groups received group and one to one sessions in DJ  – producing their own unique set which was recorded during  a final DJ Performance celebration on the last day of the project.

The musicality and enthusiasm from the 25 young people who took part was awesome, and we loved meeting them and working with them over the four days.
