Over the last year Giga Training has been working in partnership with Investing in Our Future and Peace III Southern Partnership to deliver large scale Good Relations film project.
The programme was delivered across the Southern Partnership Area – Newry and Mourne, Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon council areas, and included development and delivery of 8 Good Relations focused film making projects.
The overall aim of the project was to explore what sectarianism and racism means through cultural sharing, exploration and understanding, using the medium of film.
Each participating group got the opportunity to work with Giga Training’s team of professional film makers and plan, script, shoot and edit their own Good Relations focused film
80 people, of varying ages, took part in the programme and produced a diverse range of films addressing cultural issues through fictional, documentaries, and spoken word/visual films.
The project also included promotion through social media outlets, a historical visit, residential and celebration event to showcase the work of the participating groups.
Over the coming weeks we will be showcasing the films through the Giga Training website and social media outlets.

First Film Up is “Colourblind” produced by Warrenpoint Area Youth Project SELB
“Colourblind” is a short fictional film exploring attitudes towards racism/sectarianism. The storyline was developed by the group, then scripted, storyboarded, shot and edited over an 8 week period.
