Tech Connects

The aim of this project is to future proof young people, through the exploration of free, open and inclusive technology, and by encouraging them to build positive relations with others.

This project provided over 850 children and young people with opportunities to collaborate and have fun learning using creative technology, whilst also exploring good relations and social issues in safe environments.

Projects were delivered primarily as part of Digital Arts Academy, with young people recruited from across  Belfast to participate in creative programmes across school holidays.

This project  met the needs of, and built on opportunities to engage with, children and young people at two age groups:

  • Primary School Children (aged 6 to 11)
  • Young People (aged 11 to 16)

Each group was targeted through different mechanisms with age‐appropriate programme of engagement. Project technology areas included Minecraft, Film Making, Coding, Graphic Design, Animation, Electronic Music, DJing and Digital Comics among others.
